Meridian has for some time been deeply involved in some of the core audio technology in HD DVD and at CES 2007 we are pleased to announce that we have now joined the HD DVD Promotional Group." No date given for a player yet, but you can be certain that it'll be the absolute top of the line high-definition player of any format, period. :) That was before the official announcement. There are also some Chinese/Taiwanese manufacturers that will make HD DVD players as well, so expect to see players in the $299 range in 2007. Oh yeah, Meridian have also joined the HD DVD camp as well -- ultra high-end stuff. This now covers every segment of the market: entry level, mid-range, and high-end. HD DVD is really starting to pick up steam. They got more than Onkyo. There are also some Chinese/Taiwanese manufacturers that will make HD DVD players as well, so expect to see players in the $299 range in 2007.
