Comcast & Super Bowl HD
Casey, a reader of mine, sent me this note last week and I forgot (sorry). But here it is:
Just thought I would pass along a little petition we just launced to get the Super Bowl in HD. Our local ABC affiliate and Comcast can’t reach an agreement so we started a petition to try to get them to give us the big game in HD. I would appreciate any support you could through this way. Thanks
So if you’re a Comcast cable subscriber who likes football, you might be interested in signing the petition.

Here in Cincinnati, OH, we dealt with this last year between Time Warner Cable and the local Fox affiliate. I called TWC multiple times and eventually spoke with the VP of Customer Relations, which did not get me anywhere. I was informed by such person that it was a corporate issue which they couldn’t resolve locally, but I would be contacted as soon as it was resolved. After several more weeks of silence (and only several days before big game 2005), I contacted customer service to complain and my cable bill was reduced for several months. Two days before the game an agreement was reached and we have received our local Fox station in HD ever since.
I should not have had to complain nor should any of the thousands of other TWC HD subscribers but it happened and was resolved at the last minute. (There was even an article in the Cincinnati Enquirer about the subject weeks before the Super Bowl. The article is no longer available for free at www.enquirer.com but summaries are at

I hope you have a similar outcome.
