Madden NFL 06 HD Trailer
team XBOX has an HD trailer to the next-gen Madden NFL 06 game trailer for the Xbox 360. I have to say it’s a little disappointing. First of all the trailer didn’t play well on my machine. I have a 2.4GHz machine, which I thought would have been fast enough, but I guess not. Second, the graphics didn’t look as next-gen as I thought they would, though they are better than the current PS2/Xbox stuff. Third, while the graphics improved over current gen, it doesn’t look like the animations have improved at all. (But maybe that was just an artifact of the sucky video playback.)
Did anyone else have better luck watching this than I did?

In that post I mentioned problems I have running WMVHD files, if you’re running windows media player 10, unchecking the “drop files to keep audio in sync” can help a lot. I have a 2.6 ghz processor and 512 mb of ram and got stuttering until I did that, it seems like you really need a videocard with hardware acceleration or loads of video ram to run it without a problem otherwise.
I think they got pretty close to the concept video, you can see the detail in the player faces and there are a lot of extra animations, but I can’t help but wonder what NFL 2K6 would have looked like.
