Sony Announces New Media Center PC

[Update: Pictures of the cool-looking things at engadget]

Sony has announced a new media center PC that I’m guessing any HDTV enthusiast would love to add to his or her living room.

The system uses Microsoft’s Windows XP Media Center 2005. And, in addition to the PC portion, the The Vaio XL1 includes a 200 disc DVD player.

The suggested list price for the bundle is $2,299…expensive if you’re only using the DVD and PVR functionality. But, if you’re looking for a good Home Theater PC for your HDTV, this Sony unit sounds interesting.
