If you like to get close to nature without moving your butt off the couch, then get ready to get a lot closer. The National Geographic Channel is going HD, and they’re teaming up with Fox to do it. Their collaboration is set to hit the airwaves in early 2006.

Most of National Geographic’s current production is done in HD, and they’re also busy buying HD programming.

So get ready to see those tufts of fur, blades of grass, and sheets of ice in full HD splendor!
