Top 10 HD Shows

Jacob Luft from SI.com put together a list of top-ten non-sporting HD shows. Take a look and see where your favourites are:

  1. CSI
  2. Lost
  3. Desperate Housewives
  4. Deadwood
  5. 24
  6. Alias
  7. Fat Actress
  8. Las Vegas
  9. Law & Order
  10. Battlestar Gallactica (reruns)

I never got into Desperate Housewives, although a coworker of mine thinks it’s great. I started watching Lost but lost interest when it got boring, which was really quick. I still watch Alias, but Vaugn is really starting to annoy me. “Look ma! I’m trying to act!” What does Sydney see in the guy anyway? Battlestar Gallactica? Come on! The stupid camera work alone is enough to drive anyone nuts. Wobble wobble wobble. Oh, is there something over there? Let’s zoom in really quick to find out, and then put the camera on a bouncing rabbit while we watch.

I really like 24. I borrowed the DVDs from my brother and it was really tough not to watch them all in a row. Many of my friends are addicted to 24 also.

  2. Peavy Says:

As if people really care what a double-chinned SPORTS writer (online-only?) thinks about tv shows. On the contrary, Jay Leno and Conan O’Brien are two of the best shows to watch in HD, if only to see how good (or bad) your favorite celebs look in 1080i. For example, Jessica Alba was on the Tonight Show a few weeks back and all I can say is ‘Wow’.

  3. Barton Says:

Yeah, if the camera work on Battlestar constantly annoys you, it might be hard to get past that. But I just finished watching season one, and wow, what a great show. The stuff has really hit the fan.

  4. Chuck Kahn Says:

Battlestar Galactica is one of those rare remakes that is superior to the original. It’s a great show, not just as scifi, but for any genre of television.

Now NYPD Blue, that was a show with annoying camerawork. At least BSG keeps the subject within the frame.
